Why We're Thankful

We are thankful for clean water. We are thankful for healthy soil. We are thankful for the beauty Portland offers.

But most of all we are thankful for the City of Portland’s Green Neighbors and all the actions they take to keep our environment and community safe and healthy for everyone to enjoy. Try out some of these simple steps to be a Green Neighbor:

  • Practice healthy lawncare. By keeping excess nutrients out of our stormwater, youare helping keep our waterways clean.
  • Pickup after your pets. Properly disposing of your pet’s waste in the trash keeps harmful bacteria out of our water.
  • Never dump anything into a storm drain. Storm drains flow directly into our local waterways along with anything that has been dropped into them, includingharmful pollutants.
