Students From CBHS Test Portland’s Soil and Water

Anne Loughlin’s environmental science class worked with Chris from the District to conduct tests on the soil and water directly behind Casco Bay High School. The students collected soil samples from various sites and compared characteristics like pH and texture. The following week, the class walked to Dole Brook where they measured the chemistry of the water including the amount of oxygen and phosphorus. These amazing science students were getting their hands dirty learning about Portland’s natural resources.
